100-year-old woman found stabbed to death

A hundred-year-old woman was found stabbed to death at her Shadwell home this morning.

It was at 9.45am that police were called to an address in Hainton Close to reports a stabbing.

They discovered the 100-year-old female had been stabbed in the neck.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Next of kin have been informed, but the victim's name has not been released.

A post mortem will take place in due course.

Police have a 61-year-old man in custody and are questioning him.
